After being unjustly terminated due to illness, Yuliani finds shelter in Hong Kong's Bethune House - a temporary home for migrant workers in crisis. Through intimate phone calls with her children, candid reflections on her struggles, and emotional court preparations, Ruma Ketigaku (My Third Home) paints a poignant portrait of resilience and hope amidst adversity. As Yuliani confronts the complexities of a labor case, the film highlights the strength found in community, the weight of familial bonds, and the enduring fight for justice and dignity among Hong Kong's Indonesian migrant workers.

After the film, there will be a discussion with the director, Francis Catedral, and one of the producers, Sringatin (Sring is a migrant worker and leader of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong) on Zoom and Seija Knorr König will be on stage. The discussion will be moderated by Ali Simon, M.A. Research Assistant, Gender Studies LMU.

  • Francis Catedral

    Filmmaker

    Francis Catedral is a Filipino American documentary filmmaker and Master of Divinity graduate based in Hong Kong. Since 2018, hehas worked closely with migrant domestic worker–led organizations. His debut film, *Migrant Women Rise*, was featured by Rappler and ABS-CBN, and his current project is supported by Eye Catcher Global, New Naratif, and BEBESEA. He writes *Impermanent Residence*, a newsletter on filmmaking, migration, and the Filipino diaspora.

    Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegerin

    Seija Knorr-Köning, 32 Jahre alt, examinierte Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegerin, arbeite auf einer Intensivstation. Studiere Pflegewissenschaften, habe einen fünfjährigen Sohn, leseunglaublich gerne, gehe ins Fußballstadion nach Giesing so oft es geht und habe mich feministisch radikalisiert durch Elternschaft. Ich kämpfe für die Anerkennung und gerechte Verteilung von bezahlter und privat geleisteter Care-Arbeit.
